Trivia Question 24 Answer
Anton's Syndrome is cortical blindness, due to lesion of the primary visual cortex on both banks of the calcarine sulcus in both occipital lobes. In this syndrome, the patient may actually be unaware that they are blind at all! This, and the finding of 'blindsight' where patients seem to react to visual stimuli without actually 'seeing' it may be due to preserved extrgeniculate visual pathways.
