Trivia Question 4 Answer
Antonio Egas Moniz performed the first modern cerebral angiograms (with help of an assistant). He injected various substances into the cerebral arteries, leading to the death of one of his initial subjects. Afterwards, he moved on to non-lethal sodium iodide injection. Moniz proved to be a controversial figure for several reasons. Although he was nominated for a Nobel prize for his advances in cerebral angiography, he ultimately obtained a Nobel prize for an entirely different topic, the leucotomy (which later became known as the frontal lobotomy).
