Brief Discussion

The middle frontal gyrus is located between the superior frontal sulcus and inferior frontal sulcus. The inferior frontal sulcus is difficult to identify on axial images. Posteriorly, the precentral sulcus separates the middle frontal gyrus and the precentral gyrus.

The middle frontal gyrus contains the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, which is involved in working memory.
